The National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) is excited to announce the release of the new draft Energy Sector project description: Energy Sector Asset Management. We are seeking your feedback on this draft to help refine the challenge and scope. The comment period is now open and will close as indicated below.

Energy Sector Asset Management

This project will provide guidance on how to enhance operational technology (OT) asset management by leveraging capabilities that may already exist in an operating environment or by implementing new capabilities. Information to help identify threats to OT assets and methods for managing, monitoring, and baselining assets will be identified in this project. The Energy Sector Asset Management project will result in a freely available NIST Cybersecurity Practice Guide, documenting a reference architecture an an example solution that addresses the following characteristics of asset management:

  • asset discovery
  • asset identification
  • asset visibility
  • asset disposition
  • alerting capabilities
