Australian-owned Senetas crowned the only triple-certification encryption provider in the world

December 12, 2012 – Australia’s world-leading data protection company, Senetas Corporation Limited (ASX:SEN), was today formally awarded CAPS (CESG Assisted Products Service) certification for its high-speed CN1000 1GB Ethernet Data Encryptor. The CESG (Communications-Electronics Security Group) is the UK Government’s National Technical Authority and presented Senetas with the world first award at its annual IA12 event in London. The certification underpins Senetas’ leadership in providing encrypted security to the world’s most sensitive and critical information across government, defence and commercial organisations.

This is the very first (up to) 1gb encryptor for government data networks ever certified by CAPS, and represents the third in a string of certifications for Senetas. The company’s encryption solutions have already been certified by Common Criteria (required by Australian government and defence organisations) and FIPPS (USA certification required by US government and defence organisations). CAPS positions Senetas hardware as the only triple-certification encryption product in the world.

To date, Senetas has invested over $1million in research and development in Australia to enable its encryption solutions to meet the meticulous technical standards required by the world’s most respected certification authorities and encryption customers.  Senetas products are 100% designed, engineered and manufactured in Australia and already, protect data in over 27 countries securing some of the world’s most sensitive national security and financial information.

“CAPS is one of the world’s toughest certification standards. After a rigorous two-year evaluation process, being awarded with the official stamp of approval by the CESG couldn’t have come at a better time. Organisations globally are now realising the need to secure sensitive data as it we propel towards the Zettabyte Era at an exponential rate. This award further demonstrates Senetas’ global leadership in this innovative and high-tech product group,” said Andrew Wilson, CEO, Senetas Corporation.

Today’s government and commercial organisations are dependent on the data they collect, process, analyse and distribute across their networks. At the same time, this valuable data is increasingly targeted for theft and espionage, and encryption is recognised as the only viable protection.

“Senetas tackles the increasing number of threats to government, commercial and defence security head-on, with near zero data latency and a lower cost of ownership. We secure sensitive data without compromising network availability or application performance as it is distributed across high-speed networks.

“This certification marks a significant milestone in Australia’s growing role as a technology and innovation leader and opens doors for significant future investment and commercial opportunities,” Wilson concluded.

Senetas encryptors are used in many of Australia’s and the World’s federal government departments and agencies including regulatory bodies.
