Media Release: The organisers of Zimbabwe’s Security & Safety Exhibition and Conference SecurExpo have released the dates for the 2013 event. The 2013 chapter of SecurExpo will run from the 13th March 2013 – 16th March 2013 in Harare Zimbabwe. The 2013 chapter of the SecurExpo is showing signs of definite growth with indicative projected increase of 25% in exhibitors for the event, confirmations are that   negotiations are in place to secure a diverse venue due to the increase in exhibitors through regional and international participation. The SecurExpo 2013 event will be running on the theme “ Integrated Security, providing Global Protection” reflecting the integration of security solutions with global innovations in one package. The trend for 2013 is integration and integrated systems as the direction for innovations of global security and safety systems which is hinging on integration into existing building infrastructure and systems, providing a one stop shop concept as a reflection of the future for home automisation and corporate security solutions.

SecurExpo is Zimbabwe’s annual Security & Safety Exhibition Conference, the inaugural event was held in March 2012, which saw international scouters descending on Harare the capital of Zimbabwe for the event to have a feel of the commercial security sector in Zimbabwe and forming business networks and contacts. SecurExpo Event Director Mr Conrad Chibanda says “the response we have received from the region based on the inaugural event was amazing we definitely look forward to broadening the exhibition base of SecurExpo for 2013. Regionally we have received an lot of support and inquiries for space for next year. Zimbabwe is a strong resilient economy in the region and the level of confidence shown now more than before for the Zimbabwe market is a testament to the results of the responsive economy ready to embrace investment and development in the security sector”. The Zimbabwean Security sector has been stagnant over the past 10 years as Zimbabwe went through difficult economic challenges and since the 2009 adoption of the multi currency system which saw the falling away of the Zimbabwe Dollar, Zimbabwe has seen a steady economic growth with renewed investment and international confidence now setting in.

Opportunities for the security sector have increased with a number of local large scale projects being  developed requiring the services, the sky line of Zimbabwe has changed with new building going  up new hotels all requiring security solutions. The biggest opportunity is the co-hosting of the UNWTO in Zimbabwe scheduled for August 2013, with new hotels, convention centres, a new airport, hospitals and buildings to cater for the event being constructed. International confidence level is also seen through the return of the major airline back to the country indicative of the rise of international visitors. The organisers are hopeful that the 2013 event will usher in a huge regional following as the event stamps its position in the regional and international calendar for security event globally.
