Hon. Minister of State, Shri Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Inaugurated Global Inclusive Disaster Management Conference 2019

The Global Inclusive Disaster Management Conference (GiDMC) marked an impactful second edition on 1-2 July 2019 at Le Méridien, Hotel, New Delhi with the theme of “Towards Resilient Future – Preparedness, Response, Recovery and Mitigation”. This year the event was inaugurated by Shri Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Hon. Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise and Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, who highlighted the role and need of MSME’s in disaster management and supported the objective of the conference.

GiDMC 2019 witnessed great support form PSUs, Corporates, NGOs and major associations involved in addressing the cause from all across the globe. The UN Global Compact Network, Navaratna PSU Oil India Limited (OIL), the Maharatna companies – GAIL India Limited & ONGC and the India Red Cross Society are the major supporters of the show. The glitz and glitterati of subject scholars also graced the event with their presence. Where technical sessions were address by volunteer organizations, NGO’s and technology experts of the domain, the plenary session were full of knowledgeable content as the renounced panelists shared their real-life experiences and case-studies on eth subjects of Disaster Management, Response, Recovery and Mitigation.

Other than the sessions the exhibition was also well announced for the products and services showcased. Industry champions like Aska, Karam, idea forge, Kamerotech, Euro-safety, Brijbasi, Jyotech and Integral Safety are some of the industry champions who participated.

The event also organized a recognition award ceremony for the exceptional achievers in the regime and 70 stakeholders which included sponsors, partners, supporters, exhibitors and media partners who were awarded.

The culmination of the show happened with a valedictory session addressed by Mr. Ray Kancharla, Head of Child Centered Resilience and Adaptation (CCRA), Save the Children, Ms. Ruchi Saxena- Director, India Flying Labs, Mr. VP Mahawar- Ex Director Onshore ONGC, Mr. Anil Tyagi-Ex-Executive Director Indian Oil Corporation, Mr. A.K. Tiwari- Executive Director- Operations Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Mr. J.C. Sekar-CEO&Co-Funder, AcuiZen Technologies Singapore.

The conference this year witnessed 500+ Global Attendees, 80+ Speakers and participation from more than 10 Countries.

On the occasion of valedictory ceremony Mr V.P. Mahawar, Ex Director-Onshore, ONGC and Co-Chairman, Steering Committee further added, “ The need to support the platforms like GIDMC 2019 which connects all the stakeholders and addresses community isssues”
