Minister for Defence Industry visits Singapore

Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Christopher Pyne MP has met with Singapore’s Foreign Minister, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, addressed Australian Defence attaches and representatives posted to the region, and visited Singapore defence prime Singapore Technology – Kinetics (STK).

The Minister’s meetings were an opportunity to promote Australia’s world-class defence industry and discuss recent progress in the Defence relationship under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership signed in 2015.

“Australia and Singapore are committed to the stability and economic prosperity of our region, and have worked together for decades to foster these interests,” Minister Pyne said.

“Both countries are further strengthening economic and security cooperation under our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

“Defence industry combines both of these interests and I met with Government, business and industry leaders to progress our cooperation in this area.

While in Singapore, the Minister also addressed the Singapore-based Australian Chamber of Commerce.
