Workplace technology provider FORTÉ has acquired Hong Kong-headquartered systems integrator Vega Global, a move that adds staff and offices across the Asia-Pacific region and expands FORTÉ’s operational footprint.

The companies did not disclose financial terms. In the announcement, FORTÉ said the acquisition adds established office locations in Hong Kong, Mainland China, India, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Korea, Vietnam, Australia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Macau, New Zealand, Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates.

FORTÉ, headquartered in Minneapolis, said it also operates in the US, Ireland, Germany, Sweden, the UK and Mexico, and now has professional staff in 22 countries serving customers in more than 70 markets worldwide.

Vega Global said it has 27 offices across 17 countries in APAC and the US, and specialises in audio-visual, video conferencing and collaboration technologies for corporate, education, government and other market segments. The release said Vega has “750-plus” professional staff.

Jeff Stoebner, chairman and CEO of FORTÉ, said multinational organisations are seeking partners that can deliver consistent communication and collaboration experiences across regions.

Vega Global chief executive Steven Medeiros will become CEO of FORTÉ Asia, according to the announcement.

The acquisition comes as organisations standardise meeting room and collaboration platforms across offices, campuses and regions, increasing demand for integrators and managed services providers able to deploy and support technology consistently at scale.
