bollards - Avon Barrier Company Avon Barrier Company has chosen to exhibit at Global Security Asia for the first time. The move underlines the company’s fast growing success in the region and also the number of recently developed products that are especially suitable for Asia’s physical security requirements.  The range includes, rising arm barriers, static and rising bollards, road blockers and sliding armoured gates.

Stand no. 1630 is a joint display with Technologies Creation Pte Limited (TC), who are Avon Barrier’s approved supplier for the region and one of the leading security providers in Singapore.

Of special interest amongst the wide product range is the availability of a Manual Drop Arm barrier at widths up to 6m which is a particularly popular security specification in Singapore.   The MDA (Manual Drop Arm) Barrier has been designed and developed around the original Newey Barrier, a UK government design of security barrier providing a cost effective means of securing an entry or exit point whilst still providing a high level of protection. Avon Barrier Company has successfully physically tested its MDA barrier at 3m and 4.5m widths to PAS 68, while it latest development, the 6m width, passed simulation tests and is currently in a physical testing programme.

Avon Barrier’s bollard range includes both fixed and rising options. A new range of static bollards, the Avon Scimitar, has been physically crash-tested to PAS 68 and provides vital protection for perimeter, building, street and access route security, especially where there may be a risk of terrorism or ram-raid. Automated rising and retractable bollards are also available including the Avon SB970CR Scimitar Active Anti-Terrorist Bollard which has been impact tested to PAS 68 and provides a high level of security against unauthorised vehicle access without the need for an outwardly aggressive appearance. The automatic retractable bollards are anti-terrorist bollards designed to withstand direct impact forces in excess of 1,800 KJ, with anti-ram protection from extreme Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) attack to sites where aesthetics are a consideration.

Paul Jeffrey, Managing Director for Avon Barrier Company, said; “Asia is one of our key markets and certainly one of the fastest growing for our specialised crash-tested products.  We are very pleased to be exhibiting on a joint basis with Technologies Creation Pte, our approved suppliers in the region, who are excellent ambassadors for a professional approach to site and building physical security.”
