Apstec Systems has appointed Daniel Holtsjö (pictured) as Vice President of Business Development for the Asia–Pacific region, as the company looks to expand its commercial presence in what it describes as a key growth market.
Based in APAC, Holtsjö will be responsible for overseeing business development activities and partner engagement across the region, supporting the deployment of Apstec’s AI-based people screening technologies in both public and private sector environments.
Holtsjö brings more than 25 years of experience in the security sector, with a background spanning operational leadership, regulatory navigation and commercial management across multiple international markets. Prior to joining Apstec Systems, he served as Country President for Securitas in China, Cambodia and Thailand. During this period, he was involved in scaling operations within complex regulatory frameworks, including leading the transformation of Securitas’ Shanghai business.
His earlier experience also includes work with Safehotels, where he focused on international compliance, risk management and security standards. In addition to his commercial roles, Holtsjö has a background in public service, having previously served as a Military Police officer in the Swedish Armed Forces with a focus on protective security in high-risk environments.
Holtsjö is an active member of the regional security community. He currently serves on the ASIS International APAC Board and is Vice Chairman of the ASIS Thailand Chapter. He holds professional certifications as a Certified Security Manager (CSM) and Certified Anti-Terrorism Specialist (CATS).
Apstec Systems Group CEO Niclas Gustafsson said the appointment reflects the company’s intention to strengthen its regional leadership as demand grows for advanced screening solutions.
Daniel Holtsjö said his focus will be on working with customers and partners to address operational security challenges across the region, noting the increasing emphasis on efficiency and effectiveness in people screening environments.
Apstec Systems develops AI-driven security screening technologies designed to enhance threat detection while improving throughput and user experience. The company said APAC remains a priority region due to ongoing investment in critical infrastructure, transport and public safety.
