SOURCE Tactical Gear has announced new developments in female ballistic protection and military helmet design.
The company says it has developed an anatomically contoured hard ballistic plate designed specifically for female personnel. The plate uses a ceramic pressing and construction process intended to provide high-level ballistic protection while incorporating a curved profile that follows the natural chest form. Multiple sizes are planned.
According to SOURCE, the design removes the need for seams in the curved section and is intended to increase coverage in the upper chest area. The plate is designed to be used in combination with a contoured soft ballistic panel, with the aim of reducing protection gaps that can occur when flat hard plates are paired with flat or partially contoured soft armour.
The company said the development builds on its existing female soft armour solutions, which have been fielded by some operational units, including the Italian Carabinieri.
In parallel, SOURCE has established a dedicated helmet manufacturing facility. The company said the helmets are produced using advanced materials and manufacturing processes aimed at reducing weight while maintaining ballistic performance. Specific weight figures and certification standards were not disclosed.
The facility is intended to support integration of additional technologies into helmet systems, although further technical details have not been released.
