Embraer has reinforced its commitment to India’s aerospace sector, concluding another executive-level visit as the company continues to expand and strengthen its supply chain presence in the country.
The visit forms part of Embraer’s broader strategy to deepen industrial cooperation between Brazil and India while identifying new business opportunities across its defence, civil and executive aviation portfolios. The company says India is emerging as a critical partner in its global supply chain and long-term growth plans.
Embraer executive vice president of global procurement and supply chain Roberto Chaves said the company remains focused on advancing joint initiatives with India’s aerospace industry, particularly in defence and civil aviation. He said Embraer is committed to supporting technological innovation, operational excellence and sustainable, long-term partnerships that benefit both domestic industry and global programs.
The visit builds on Embraer’s longstanding engagement in India and follows ongoing discussions with local industry participants and government stakeholders. During the visit, Embraer assessed a broad range of potential supplier capabilities, including aerostructures assembly, machining, metal forming, composites, wiring systems, and both hardware and software development.
India is viewed by Embraer as a key strategic partner in the Asia-Pacific region, with plans underway to implement an extensive local supply chain program. This effort has been supported by the recent inauguration of Embraer’s Indian office in New Delhi and the establishment of a dedicated local procurement team to drive supply chain development and industry engagement.
India also represents a significant market for Embraer across all of its business segments. More than 44 Embraer aircraft are currently in operation in the country, supporting commercial aviation, executive aviation and defence and security missions. This includes Embraer VIP jets operated by the Indian government and EMB 145 AEW “Netra” aircraft in service with the Indian Air Force.
For the Asia-Pacific aerospace and defence community, Embraer’s expanding footprint in India highlights the country’s growing role as both a strategic market and a critical contributor to global aerospace supply chains.
