Zscaler has promoted Sanjay Yadave to Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ), expanding his remit from the company’s Greater Asia business to oversee strategy, growth and operations across the wider region.
Yadave will lead Zscaler’s APJ business across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, India, Southeast Asia, South Korea and the Greater China Region, according to the company. Zscaler said the appointment reflects continued investment in APJ as organisations move from AI experimentation to deploying AI agents at scale.
Since joining Zscaler in 2024, Yadave has led the Greater Asia business. The company said that period included expansion of data centre offerings, growth in South Korea, Indonesia and the Philippines, and the opening of a Singapore office. Zscaler also cited customer wins in Greater Asia including BDO Bank, Korea Zinc, International SOS, PT Bank Hibank and NCS.
Yadave has more than 25 years of experience in the technology sector and previously held senior roles at VMware, Amazon Web Services and BT, Zscaler said.
“I am honoured to take on this role at such a defining moment for our customers and for Zscaler,” Yadave said. “Across Asia Pacific and Japan, organisations are moving fast from experimenting with AI to putting AI agents to work across their business, and every one of those agents needs to be secured, governed and trusted.”
Ross Tackett, Zscaler’s chief revenue officer, said APJ was a key growth region for the company. “As enterprises across the region scale agentic AI, they need a security platform built for the AI era, and I am confident Sanjay will drive significant growth and innovation for Zscaler in this critical region,” Tackett said.
The leadership change comes as security vendors position their platforms around the operational and governance challenges associated with wider use of AI systems and automation, including the risks posed by AI agents interacting with enterprise applications and data at scale.
