Ping Identity has appointed Akkasha Sultan as senior vice president and general manager for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), based in Sydney.

The company said Sultan will be responsible for its growth strategy, customer engagement and market expansion across the region, overseeing regional operations with a focus on revenue growth and enterprise customer relationships.

“We are thrilled to welcome Akkasha to Ping Identity to lead our APJ organisation during this phase of rapid expansion,” said Adnan Chaudhry, chief revenue officer at Ping Identity.

Chaudhry linked the appointment to increased enterprise adoption of artificial intelligence across the region and the resulting requirements for identity, governance and trust.

In the release, Ping Identity said Sultan will also support its “Identity for AI strategy” across APJ, including governance of AI agents and autonomous workloads alongside human identities.

“Organisations across APJ are rapidly moving from AI experimentation to deployment, and identity and governance will be critical to realising AI’s value safely,” Sultan said. “I look forward to working with our customers, partners, and teams to help them navigate that transformation while driving growth across the region.”

Ping Identity said Sultan has more than 25 years of technology leadership experience. Most recently, he held leadership roles at Salesforce and Tableau, including vice president roles spanning Australia, New Zealand and parts of ASEAN, as well as general manager for Tableau’s analytics and AI business. The release also cited earlier senior roles at Microsoft and Oracle.
